The Chevy Jolt is the Tesla Model 3 competitor GM should build, if only it wasn’t a hoax. Our friends at electrek just found this brilliant hoax page that looks just like the real thing (except for the typos), and lays out precisely how GM could own Tesla:

An all-electric sports car offering an estimated 230 miles of range per charge for an affordable price is finally here. Designed utilizing Chevrolet’s new EV platform from the ground up, the Jolt EV delivers: from the sport sculpted proportions to its distinctive technology, efficiency and performance are combined to make driving the Jolt EV an experience like never before.

Chevy JoltThe 2018 Jolt EV is an electric vehicle that features a lithium-ion battery that offers gas-free and tailpipe-emissions-free power and performance. Jolt EV also lets you have fun beyond the city with a category leading 230 miles of range. Coupled with CCS DC fast charging, the open road just became electrified like never before.

When you return home from work or road trips, charging your Jolt EV is as easy as plugging in your cell phone. An available 240-volt charging unit (professional installation required) provides more power and will charge your Jolt EV faster. The standard Location-Based Charging feature makes it easy to customize your charging settings when at home, and take advantage of public and DC quick charging when away.

The available 240-volt charging unit is the fastest way to recharge your battery at home and offers more power than a 120-volt outlet. This higher-voltage system can provide up to an average of 25 miles of range per hour of charge and fully replenishes the battery in about 9 hours.

An impressive hoax. Really impressive. I recommend reading the whole page.

Thanks for the tip, Electrek.
